WWSA has proudly expanded its presence to China, the UAE, Qatar, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Singapore, Sri Lanka and France.
WWSA board, chaired by Godwin Xerri approved our membership in The International Association of Dry Cargo Shipowners (INTERCARGO) as Associate Member.
This year, we held several key events, including our General Assembly in Dubai on February 9, 2025, the General Meeting in Rotterdam on May 13, 2025, and the Regional Meeting (Europe + Med) in Barcelona on October 20, 2025. Additionally, we hosted online Regional Meetings for the Americas on November 12 and Asia & Africa on November 13, 2025.
Our General Meeting took place in Rotterdam on May 13, along with several online sessions throughout the year, including Board Meetings etc.
At our meeting in Rotterdam we welcomed our guest speakers Elisabeth Cosmatos (CEO, The Cosmatos Group of Companies), Bjorn Borbe (Managing Director of ASP Ships Germany), Noya Charmanidou (Head of Business Development – Marketplace, Harbor Lab), Maggie Hui Li (Claims Execuitive, ITIC) and Luigi Cafiero (CCO, Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Holdings).
At the WWSA General Assembly in Dubai the following guest speakers attended: Tim Wickmann (Global Executive Vice President Commercial – Ports & Terminals, DP World), Deepak Kumar (Vice President, Ceekay Line (Parekh Group), Simon Aynsley (CCO, Gulftainer) and Norbert Hahn (Senior Sales Manager, TAILWIND Shipping Lines /LIDL Group).
Among the recurring themes discussed was the potential establishment of dedicated “pillars” or working groups to represent the various business segments, as well as the possible creation of an entity, company, or platform capable of tendering and competing with DA-Desk and Harbor Lab.
We were actively represented at major industry trade fairs, including Breakbulk Middle East (Dubai), Breakbulk Europe (Rotterdam), Transport Logistic (Munich), Nor-Shipping (Oslo), FONASBA Meeting (Istanbul), and Intermodal Europe (Barcelona), among others.
We attended the Latitude 25° – End of Year Event, organized by the Emirates Shipping Association (ESA), held at Emirates Towers, Dubai. As a non-governmental organization, ESA connects maritime stakeholders, brings a global perspective to the region, and positions the Emirates as a leading global maritime hub.
Rafael Llerena, representing the WWSA, attended the panel discussion at FONASBA meeting in Istanbul “Strategic insights: Technology Partnerships and the Next Frontier” along with such reputed speakers as Kate Torpey from USA, Mohamed El Mezouar from Morocco and Niklas Soltow from Germany. Panel was introduced and leadered by Julio Delfino from Argentina.
Throughout the year, we have continued to strengthen commercial collaboration within the WWSA network.
Increased collaboration between members is reflected in numerous one-on-one development initiatives are underway, fostering strong growth within our internal business network. This includes the services facilitated from the WWSA Management office to support the members.
Moreover our WWSA News (blog) now reaches over 12,000 subscribers across the global shipping industry.
